There are multiple survivalists featured in this episode of “Alone” from Season 10, however, Melanie Sawyer, 55, of Essex County, New York, taps out (leaves the competition). She finds that mice have torn a hole in her sleeping sack in week six. She uses her underwire bra as a makeshift needle to mend it. She spends the day gathering firewood and thinking back on her experiences.  Melanie makes fruitless attempts to gather rock tripe and catch some fish in 6 weeks. She feels so alone and wonders how much more she can take away from this experience.

On day 43, she keeps trying to catch fish, but the seclusion of the place and her loneliness wear on her. Realizing she wasn’t ready for the emotional effects of being alone herself, Melanie decided to tap out. She wishes she could spend all of her time with her loved ones since she misses them.

Other survivalists, such as Alan Tenta, Mikey Hilton, and James “Wyatt” Black, have persisted in the hostile environment in the meantime.

In northern Minnesota, 56-year-old off-grid organic farmer Ann Rosenquist acquired a strong love for nature. She loved the outdoors from exploring forests, creating forts, fishing, hiking, and cross-country skiing.  Ann worked several jobs after graduation, but her true calling was gardening. She runs an off-grid organic farm in northern Wisconsin’s remote woodlands with her spouse Tom. She and her husband teach primitive techniques at the Arizona Wintercount.


Ann tends crops, harvests sap from birch and maple trees, forages mushrooms, and uses roadkill on their farm, which grows fruits, herbs, and vegetables. Skiing, snowshoeing, preserving, tanning, and sewing fill winters. Ann joins Alone to use her skills and resourcefulness to overcome extraordinary challenges. A new season of the popular reality show ALONE follows ten hardy individuals. They are sent to isolated areas and given a strict budget to make it through the wilderness. The objective is to remain alive for as long as possible in the harsh tundra environment and among the territorial species. A grand prize of $500,000 goes to the last person standing. Reindeer Lake in Northern Saskatchewan, Canada Reindeer Lake, is the setting for the show’s tenth season.

To help them cope with the hardships of the environment, the survivalists are permitted to carry 10 survival items of their choosing. They face added danger and difficulty in surviving because the area is home to a variety of species, including black bears, wolves, and moose. He intends to utilize the prize money to help pay for his children’s schooling. He catches a lake trout to demonstrate his fishing prowess and to emphasize the necessity of food for survival.

Cade Cole, a professional hunter and hunting guide, is a 27-year-old from Crowheart, Wyoming. If he wins, he wants to open a horse camp for children with learning difficulties. For food, he hunts animals like moose and grouse. When he misplaces his arrows, he experiences a setback, but he is adamant that he won’t give up.

Jodi Rose, a 45-year-old homesteader from Worland, Wyoming, has experience in hunting and tracking. She sustained a serious leg injury, but she overcame it and eventually retired from teaching special education. She concentrates on building a cozy and durable cabin while collecting food from the surrounding area. Along with this, She forages for food like wild blueberries.

Lee DeWilde, an Athabascan of Koyukon origin, places a high priority on constructing his house and acquiring food. He is a fisherman by trade and runs an air charter company. He intends to feed himself by catching fish and eventually moose. In order to better navigate the waterways, he also builds a raft.

Luke Olsen, a glass artist, and instructor of outdoor survival skills, is 39 years old and resides in Maui, Hawaii. He considers himself a problem solver and comes from a family with experience in survival techniques. He finds bear footprints, kills a grouse, then comes across a black bear. He looks for berries and other food sources, and he makes an effort to stalk a black bear so he can go hunting.

These individuals adapt and survive in the bush by using their survival skills, environmental awareness, and the meager resources they took with them. Building shelters, finding food, and surviving the terrible weather are just a few of the physical and emotional hurdles they must overcome in order to win the competition and be the lone survivor.
